ARTHUR "BOOG" BALDWIN

Arthur "Boog" Baldwin was born Nov. 7, 1930, to the late Leslie and Zilphia Croom Baldwin in Wayne County, N.C. He died Dec. 1, 2016, at Cary Health and Rehabilitation Center in Cary, N.C.
He was educated in Wayne County Schools, and graduated from Dillard High School in 1950. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in elementary education from Fayetteville State University in 1955.
He married Vera Lee Grantham Feb. 10, 1956, and they began their life together in Goldsboro, N.C., and remained together 56 years until her death in 2012.
He is survived by two children, daughter, Veda Baldwin of Cary, N.C., and son, Aaron Baldwin of Broken Arrow, Okla.; two grandchildren, Arthur Tyson (Tiffany) of Lisle, Ill., and Marleigh Baldwin of Broken Arrow, Okla.; three great-grandchildren, Victor, Valentino and Vincent Tyson of Lisle, Ill.; and a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends,with special appreciation to his nephew Coleman Thomas, who gave untiring assistance during his illness.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 1 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church. Burial will follow in Baldwin Cemetery.
Visitation Monday from 3 to 6 p.m. at Haskins Funeral Home. The family will assemble at the funeral home at 12:15 p.m. Tuesday in preparation for the funeral procession.
