SAMUEL E. MCQUEEN

Samuel "Sam" Edward McQueen passed away Friday, Nov. 11, 2016, at his home.
Sam was born to the late William Edward McQueen and Lila Sanders McQueen, and was the husband of the late Mickey McQueen.
He served in the United States Air Force during the Korean and Vietnam wars as an avionics electronics weapons system technician. Sam retired from the United States Air Force as a senior master sergeant in 1973 after 28 years of service.
He later started a second career as a Wayne Community College HVAC instructor.
Sam was a member of Goldsboro Masonic Lodge No. 634, as well as Goldsboro York Rite Bodies.
He enjoyed golfing, bowling, fishing, hunting and baseball.
A funeral service will be held in the mausoleum chapel at Wayne Memorial Park Wednesday at 1 p.m., with the Rev. Dusty Sprouse officiating.
The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 7 to 9 p.m. at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home.
Mr. McQueen is survived by three sons, William McQueen, Jimmy McQueen and wife, Kim, and Richie McQueen and wife, Belinda; and two daughters, Anna Partee and husband, Lee, and Christie Barron and husband, Andrew; his brother, Weldon McQueen; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
The family would like to acknowledge the wonderful staff at Community Home Care and Hospice for the love and care provided, especially Patricia Tate, during his final days.
