REV. GLENN WADE
June 9, 1938-Sept. 11, 2016
The Rev. Alonzo Glenn Wade, Goldsboro, was called home to be with his Lord Sunday, Sept. 11, 2016, at Kitty Askins Hospice Center surrounded by his family.
The life he lived, one of Christian love, could not be diminished by the sickness that he endured.
The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at Seymour Funeral Home, followed by a service celebrating Glenn's life and to give witness to his faith in Jesus Christ at 11 a.m. in the chapel, with the Rev. Christian Powell. Interment will conclude the service in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery.
Glenn was born in Cordele, Ga., June 9, 1938, to the late Mr. and Mrs. Hunter Wade.
He proudly served his country in the United States Army.
After receiving his degree in pastoral ministries at Central Wesleyan College, Glenn was ordained as a pastor of the Wesleyan church. He pastored various churches in the upstate of South Carolina for 38 years before retirement.
He leaves behind a wife of 54 years, Rachel S. Wade, who was his faithful friend, companion and helpmate.
He was a loving father to his two sons, Anthony Glenn Wade of Charlotte, N.C., and Russell Eric Wade of Goldsboro, N.C.
One of his greatest joys was time spent with his three grandchildren.
He loved people, and was known as a jokester among his family and friends.
Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.seymourfuneralhome.com.
