George Morris "Butch" Zimmerman Jr., 73, Goldsboro, passed away Friday at Wayne Memorial Hospital.
He was the son of the late George and Mabel Zimmerman, and was the husband of Anna L. Zimmerman.
Mr. Zimmerman was a United States Air Force veteran, and was retired from Heavy Duty as an electrical engineer.
A memorial service will be held Monday at 7:30 p.m. at the Salvation Army, with Lt. Phillip Stokes officiating.
Family members will greet friends at the home Sunday from 2 to 8 p.m.
He is also survived by three sons, Brian Zimmerman, Kelly Zimmerman and wife, Rhonda, and Steven Morris Zimmerman and wife, Kimberly; a daughter, Nancy Lea Cross and husband, Nicholas, of Jacksonville; two sisters, Bonnie Elaine Zimmerman and Jo Ann Frost and husband, "Jack," all of Martinsville, Va.; and eight grandchildren, Brandon and Abigail Cross and Amber, Kelly, Sarah, Anthony, Erin and Jason Zimmerman.
