Joseph "Joe" Allen Boyette, 72, Warsaw, N.C., passed away Sept. 2, 2016, after a brief illness at Wake Medical Center In Raleigh, N.C.

Joe began working with Boney Wilson's and Sons Grocery in Warsaw while in high school, and in 2000, transitioned to Food Lion in Wallace, N.C., until his retirement in 2014.

During his retirement, he enjoyed spending his days with his wife and soulmate of 52 years, Carol Boyette, and traveling to many new destinations with his girls and grandchildren.

Joe's life rotated around being a giver to others. He was known for his gentle nature and love of everyone. He was a soft spoken man, who loved to make others smile.

To his family he was a simple man, a provider, a care giver, a tear wiper, a hand holder, an encourager, a teacher, a friend and a spiritual man who, today, would say to us, "Don't weep for me, for I am in the Lord's house today."

Joe was born July 3, 1944, to William Joseph Boyette and Jeannie Mae Boyette, both of whom preceded him in death.

He is survived not only by his wife, but also by his baby girls, Pam Grady (R.L.) of Mount Olive, N.C., and Michelle Bates (Michael) of Garner, N.C.; four wonderful grandchildren who were the highlight of his life, Nicholas Grady (Brittni) and Jessie Grady of Mount Olive and Cameron and MaKenzie Bates of Garner; and sisters, Grace Peterson of Petosky, Mich., and Linda Batchelor of Warsaw, N.C.

Several very special extended family members, Geri Johnson, Barbara Sholar and Greg Blanchard all of Warsaw and Sue Sykes of Wallace, as well as many beloved nephews and nieces, and two cats, R1 and R2, also survived Joe.

The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Sept. 5, 2016, at Johnson Baptist Church in Warsaw, N.C.

Visitation will be held prior to the service beginning at 10 a.m.

Burial will follow the funeral at Devotional Gardens in Warsaw, N.C.
