RAY HOLLAMON

Arnold Ray Hollamon, 84, Goldsboro, passed away Wednesday evening at Kitty Askins Hospice Center surrounded by his family.
Ray was born in Wayne County July 22, 1932, to the late Talmadge and Vilona Bordeaux Hollamon.
Over the years, he lived on West Hill Street, where he owned a chicken farm that became his family homestead.
A lifelong farmer and trusted friend and neighbor, Ray worked from sun up to sun down, demonstrating a strong work ethic.
A service celebrating Ray's life will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 27, 2016, in the chapel of Seymour Funeral Home, with the Rev. Gerald Hollamon officiating. Interment will follow in Wayne Memorial Park.
Ray is survived by his wife of 60 years, Dorothy Smith Hollamon; daughters, Gail Johnson and husband, John, of Goldsboro and Judy Summerlin and fiancé, Johnny Cain, of Goldsboro; sister, Doris Jernigan of Goldsboro; and two grandchildren, Christopher A. Summerlin and wife, Devon, and Jessica Rae Summerlin and fiancé, Richard Haynes.
He is also survived by special friends, Elton and Trellie Herring.
Flowers are welcome or memorials may be given to Coker Memorial Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church, 2643 N. Beston Road, LaGrange, N.C., 28551.
The family will receive friends Friday, Aug. 26, 2016, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home and other times at his home.
