SUDIE BELL HOUSTON STRICKLAND

Sudie Bell Houston Strickland, 92, Mount Olive, passed away Tuesday, June 28, 2016, at Willow Creek Nursing Home.
Sudie was born in Wayne County Feb. 1, 1924, to the late Herbert and Ollie Westbrook Houston.
She was a member of Friendly Holiness Church.
Sudie will be remembered for her love of quilting with the ladies of the church.
She was the kindest and most loving mother and grandmother and a great friend to everyone. Sudie will be missed by all who were blessed enough to know her.
The family will receive friends Friday, July 1, 2016, from 2 to 3 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home, followed by service celebrating Sudie’s life at 3 p.m. in the chapel, with the Rev. Tony Kopanski officiating. Interment will follow in Emmaus Baptist Church Cemetery.
Sudie is survived by her daughter, Jean S. Mitchell and husband, Arthur, of Goldsboro; son, Ronnie Strickland of Mount Olive; sister, Elease Herring of Goldsboro; five grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, James E. Strickland; brothers, Norwood Houston and Earl Houston; and sister, Mary Strickland.
