James Walter Thorb, 74, 220 E. Best St., died Thursday at home.
Funeral will be Wednesday at 1 p.m. at New Elders Chapel AME Zion Church, with the Rev. William Hagans officiating. Burial will be in Dobson Cemetery.
Born in Duplin County, he was the son of the late Leroy and Maggie Sloan Thorb. He was married to Lenora Dobson Thorb.
Visitation will be 3 to 6 tonight at Garris Funeral Home Chapel and an hour prior to funeral service at the church Wednesday.
