CONNIE JONES MYERS
July 8, 1957-May 9, 2016
Connie Jones Myers, 58, after a long and courageous battle with CBD, passed peacefully Monday, May 9, 2016, into that far better life with her Lord and Savior and with those beloved family who went on before. Her courage during this fight was typical of her strength of character, reflecting her loyalty and dedication to, and deep love for, her family.
Connie was born in Wayne County July 8, 1957, to the late John X. Jones and Edna Lewis Jones.
She had worked with Acme in Fremont for 25 years, and later went to work with Reuel in Goldsboro for 12 years.
Connie was the rock of her family; her husband and children knew that she loved them with all her heart and truly was a blessing to them.
Connie had a lasting impact on everyone she met, and will be dearly missed.
She was a very dedicated wife, mother and grandmother, who loved cooking, cleaning, working in the yard and going to the beach. Connie's greatest joy in life was spending time with her family, grandchildren and friends.
The family will receive friends from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Thursday, May 12, 2016, at The Bridge (Princeton Campus), followed by a service celebrating Connie's life at 7 p.m. in the church, with the Rev. Andy Stoval and the Rev. Jeff Dail officiating. Interment will be at 11 a.m. Friday, May 13, 2016, at Wayne Memorial Park.
Connie is survived by her husband of 41 years, Gerald R. Myers; daughter, Shannon Booth and husband, Jeff, of Pikeville; son, Curtis Paul Myers of Goldsboro; her grandchildren and the apples of her eye, Austin Booth, Carleigh Koekkoek and Daniel Myers; brother, Jack Jones and wife, Jeanne; sister, Lynn Jones Langley and husband, Jerry; stepbrother, Ronnie Jones; and stepsisters, Glenda Wells, Susie Lawhorn and Donna Jean Stafford.
She is also survived by four grandchildren she loved as her own, Kamydn, Kyndall, Kaylin and Konner Koekkoek.
Connie is also survived by a special caregiver, Jamie Williamson, whom Connie loved like a daughter, and several nieces and nephews she loved very much.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Rudy X. Jones; stepfather, D.J. Jones; and stepsister, Brenda Jordan.
We would like to express our thanks to the wonderful staff at Community Home Care and Hospice for the love and care it provided for Connie during her final days. With special thanks to the caregivers, Teresa Short, Kim Carter, Ashley Maddox, Allen Strickland and Trudy Nichols. Simple words cannot express our gratitude.
Flowers are welcome or memorials may be given to Community Home Care and Hospice, 1201C, Wayne Memorial Drive, Goldsboro, N.C., 27534.
Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.seymourfuneralhome.com.
