Joan Margaret Sullivan Jones, 75, Goldsboro, died Wednesday, April 6, 2016, at Wayne Memorial Hospital surrounded by her family.
Joan was born Dec. 28, 1940, in Chicago, Ill., to the late Thomas Sullivan and Margaret Maloney Sullivan.
She was married to Joseph Jones for 57 years.
Being a military spouse, Joan got the opportunity to travel the world with her husband.
She was a member of St. Vincent DePaul Society.
Joan was also a member of St. Mary Roman Catholic Church.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, April 11, 2016, at 11 a.m. at St. Mary Roman Catholic Church, with Father Alex Gonzalez presiding. Inurnment will follow in the church columbarium.
In addition to her husband, Joan is survived by her children, Cathleen Harnish, Jo-Ann Riley, Margie Nowlin, Joseph Jones and Michael Jones; 19 grandchildren; and 32 great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to be made to IHM Sisters, 2300 Adams Ave., Scranton, Pa., 18509.
The family would like to give a very special thank you to Dr. Gool Gupta and Dr. J.D. Gupta for their wonderful care they provided for Joan.
