DANIEL DOOLEY
June 7, 1970-April 3, 2016
Daniel Dooley, 45, died Sunday, April 3, 2016, at his home in Carroll.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 9, 2016, at Lampe Funeral Home in Lake City, with visitation to begin one hour prior to the service.
A private family burial will be held at Evergreen Cemetery in Lohrville.
Daniel Wyade Dooley was born June 7, 1970, at Stewart Memorial Hospital to Gary and Gloria (Mohr) Dooley, a military family.
Little did he or his parents know at that time, was that for the next 23 years of his life he would travel the world and the United States as the son of an Air Force noncommissioned officer. Daniel was known to say he could live in Europe and be very comfortable there.
He graduated in 1988 from Eastern Wayne High School in Goldsboro, N.C., and Iowa Central Community College in Fort Dodge, Iowa.
He loved computers, and became an Information Technician (IT) specialist, and started an in-home computer repair business. He then expanded to a store-front in Lake City in short time.
He loved interacting and helping people with their computers. He knew that computers were more than a fun and addicting black box or screen; they were a means to communicate with the whole world, and he found value in helping people achieve that means in his home town.
Later, after a heart attack, he closed the store-front and worked for others in the same business. His most recent job was with Quality Machine of Iowa in Audubon, Iowa.
Dan left behind his parents; sister, Billie Dooley-Long (David); niece, Skye Eliana Long; nephew, Cody Dooley (Joanna Rosen); great-nephew, David Isaac; his grandparents, Gordon and L. Jean Benckendorf-Dooley and Delores Lee-Mohr; also many uncles, aunts, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Melvin Mohr.
