Elder Douglas Cornell Gills, 69, South Marion Drive, Goldsboro, went to be with his Lord and Savior Thursday, March 31, 2016.
A service to celebrate his life will be held Wednesday, April 6, 2016, at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Howell Funeral Home and Crematory in Goldsboro. A private interment will be held at Wayne Memorial Park.
He was born in Wayne County July 10, 1946, to the late Charlie and Carrie Hood Gills.
Mr. Gills was a member of Praise Prayer Worship Revival Center.
Mr. Gills is survived by two sons, Raymond Douglas Gills of Chicago and Scott White and wife, Raniece, of Chicago; two sisters, apostle Deborah Kornegay and husband, Jerry, of Goldsboro and Denice Gills Easterling of Washington, D.C.; four grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and close friends, including Tony Gould of Chicago.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Wanda White-Gills, and his son, Douglas Gills.
Viewing will be held Tuesday, April 5, 2016, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Howell Funeral Home and Crematory in Goldsboro.
Professional services have been entrusted to Howell Funeral Home and Crematory in Goldsboro.
