VELVA "BELLE" BROWN

Velva "Belle" Pender Brown, 81, of Fremont went to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, January 22, 2016, at Kitty Askins Hospice Center.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Jan. 26, at 7 p.m. in the chapel of Shackleford-Howell Funeral Home, 102 N. Pine St. in Fremont. The family will receive friends following the service. A graveside service will be held Wednesday, Jan. 27, at 11 a.m. at Eureka Cemetery.
Mrs. Brown was born in Wayne County on July 29, 1934 to the late Cecil and Ruby Bass Pender.
She was formerly a member of Fremont Holiness Church for many years and later attended Lucama Independent Holiness Church.
Mrs. Brown was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Smith Brown; two sisters, Edith Head and Shirley Ginn; and two brothers, Sonny and Buddy Pender.
She is survived by two sons, Larry Dale Brown and wife, Diane, of Lucama and Danny Paul Brown of Fremont; two daughters, Paulette "Polly" Williams and husband, Andy, of Fremont and Joanna "Jo" Boykin of Fremont; three brothers, Elvin Pender and wife, Charlotte, Charles Pender and Keith Pender, all of Eureka; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
The family is in the care of Shackleford-Howell Funeral Home in Fremont.
