EVELYN S. CORBETT

Evelyn Swinson Corbett, 97, died Saturday at her home. Services will be held Wednesday, Dec. 9, at 11 a.m. at Warsaw United Methodist Church, 107 West Plank Road, Warsaw. Interment will be at Pinecrest Cemetery in Warsaw immediately following the service.

She was a homemaker and was employed by the Duplin County School System where she worked as a teacher's assistant for many years. She was a member of the Warsaw United Methodist Church, where she was especially devoted to the Methodist Women's group.

She will be remembered for her unconditional love, devotion and deep care to her family. She was exceptionally dedicated to the younger members in her family and very sensitive to their needs. She had a genuine love for flowers and especially had a great pride for her rose garden. She leaves a true legacy of the importance of family.

She is survived by her sisters, Lillian S. Butler of Raleigh, Dollie S. Kornegay of Faison and Thelma S. Allen of Warsaw. Nephews and nieces: Dan Kornegay and wife, Penny of Faison; Claire K. Eloshway and husband, Greg of Faison; Ken Butler, J.D. of Raleigh; Dr. Barbara B. Comyn and husband, Dr. Pat Comyn of Madison, Va. Great-nieces and great-nephew: Krystal K. Rose and husband, Caleb of Pawcatuck, Conn.; Lyndsey E. Lee and husband, Craig of Clayton; Courtneay K. Overbee and husband, Jordan of Zebulon; Katlyn E. Rhodes and husband, Brad of Warsaw; Caroline Comyn of Raleigh; and Daniel Comyn of Madison, Va. Great-greatnieces and great-greatnephew, Emma Claire Lee, Corbett Mae Overbee and Collin James Lee.

She was predeceased by her parents, Dan W. and Alice Boyette Swinson; brother, Dan Warren Swinson; and husband, William Graham Corbett.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the Warsaw United Methodist Church, 107 West Plank Road, Warsaw.

Visitation will be at her home, 674 Friendship Church Road, Faison and immediately following the interment.
