John Lester Flowers Sr., 81, Pikeville, passed away Wednesday at Kitty Askins Hospice Center.
Visitation will be held tonight from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Howell Funeral Home and Crematory in Goldsboro.
A graveside service will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at Elmwood Cemetery in Fremont.
Mr. Flowers was born in Wayne County April 11, 1934, to the late Jarvis and Irene Aycock Flowers.
He was an avid hunter.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce Strickland Flowers, and a son, Johnny Flowers.
He is survived by two daughters, Olivia Flowers of Fremont and Dail Pittman and husband, Barry, of Wilson; one sister, Betsy Braswell of Kinston; eight grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
