MR. GERALD LEE WORRELL
July 19, 1940-Nov. 28, 2015

Mr. Gerald Lee Worrell, 75, 314 Miller Ave., Goldsboro, N.C., departed his earthly life Saturday, Nov. 28, 2015, at Wayne Memorial Hospital in Goldsboro, N.C.
Gerald was born in Wayne County July 19, 1940, to the late Mr. Horace Worrell and Mrs. Ruther Crawford-Worrell.
He graduated from Carver High School in 1958.
After high school, he served in the United States Air Force.
Later, Gerald continued his education by earning an associate degree in mechanics from Wayne Community College.
During his working years, he worked for several companies including Cherry Hospital, Dupont and General Electric, where he retired after 30 years of service.
Brother Gerald accepted Christ as his Lord and savior, and became a member of Saints Delight United Holy Church.
Mr. Worrell was preceded in death by his loving and caring wife, Bishop Lettie Ashford-Worrell, and his brother, James Worrell.
Funeral service will be conducted Thursday, Dec. 3, 2015, at noon at Saints Delight United Holy Church (Parkstown community), 976 LaGrange Road, LaGrange, N.C. The Rev. Davin C. Pickett Sr. will officiate.
Interment will follow in the Wayne Memorial Park Cemetery South, 2925 U.S. 117 South, Dudley, N.C.
Also, a public viewing will be held Wednesday, Dec. 2, 2015, from 2 to 7 p.m. in Apostle D.L. McIntyre Memorial Chapel at McIntyre Funeral Home, 900 S. George St., Goldsboro, N.C., with the family present from 6 to 7 p.m.
Mr. Worrell leaves his loving children, Lisa Worrell, Pamela Anderson and husband, Allen Jr., Reginald Worrell and Shiril Jackson and Jeremiah Worrell; his grandchildren, Wesley Worrell, Burgandi Anderson and Christian Anderson; his siblings, Marjorie Warren and husband, Earl, Carolyn King, Linda Deans and husband, Ray, and Horace Worrell; a special and devoted friend, minister Alma Darden; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Thursday, Dec. 3, 2015, the family members and friends will assemble one hour prior at 10:50 a.m. at the residence of Mr. and Mrs. Allen Anderson Jr., 309 Spring Creek Road, Goldsboro, N.C., in preparation for the funeral procession.
Flowers may be sent to McIntyre Funeral Home, 900 S. George St., Goldsboro, N.C., beginning Wednesday, Dec. 2, 2015, from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
