Dora Adeline Williams Beavers, 81, resident of Oriental, N.C., formerly of Seven Springs, died Saturday, Oct. 31, 2015, at her home in Oriental, surrounded by her family.

She was the daughter of the late Jesse Paul and Emma Edwards Williams of Seven Springs, and was preceded in death by three sisters, Sallie W. Hardy of Mount Olive, Johnnie W. Summerlin of Seven Springs, and Olive W. Jones of Seven Springs; two brothers, James "Buck" Williams and Grover Ray Williams, both of Seven Springs; and a son-in-law, Dan Sasser of Goldsboro.

Dora loved gardening, canning, freezing and cooking for her family and friends. She enjoyed traveling with her friends, sewing and camping, but most of all she LOVED her family and friends.

Survivors include daughter, Terri B. Sasser of Goldsboro, son, Thomas Beavers of Seven Springs, and daughter, Renee Beavers of Oriental, with whom she shared her home; granddaughter, Melissa Hoskins and husband, Robert, of Pikeville; granddaughter, Shanna Gurley and husband, Steve, of Trenton; and grandsons, William Beavers and James Beavers, both of Raleigh. She is also survived by three great-granddaughters; two great-grandsons; and four great-great-grandchildren; along with a sister, Esther W. Hardy of Norfolk, Va., a brother, Donald Williams and wife, Mary, of La Grange; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Dora was a member of Rones Chapel United Methodist Church of Mount Olive, and its United Methodist Women. After relocating to Pamlico County some eight years ago, she attended Pamlico United Methodist Church and Stonewall United Methodist Church. She was a retired member of the Seven Springs Area Rescue Squad Auxiliary, was retired from Wayne County Public Schools, having been employed at the old Seven Springs School in the cafeteria, and retired as manager of the cafeteria at Spring Creek Elementary School. She worked at Carolina Tobacco Warehouse in Goldsboro as a cook for four years, and served as a volunteer at Pamlico Hospice Thrift Store and was a member of the Pamlico Seniors Club.

The life of Mrs. Dora Beavers will be remembered in a service at Tyndall Funeral Home in Mount Olive on Tuesday night, Nov. 3, at 7 p.m. with the Rev. Mike Roach of Oriental, the Rev. Derick Davis of Washington, and Dr. Paul Hardy of Norfolk, officiating.

Visitation will follow the service. Committal services and interment will be in Pineview Cemetery in Seven Springs at 11 a.m. Wednesday with the Rev. Derick Davis and Dr. Paul Hardy officiating.

A memorial service will also be held Sunday, Nov. 8, at 3 p.m. at Pamlico United Methodist Church, Oriental.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to Pamlico United Methodist Church Building Fund, 4288 Orchard Creek Road, Oriental, N.C. 28571, or Pamlico County Hospice, 11146 N.C. Hwy. East, Grantsboro, N.C. 28529.

Arrangements are being handled by Tyndall Funeral Home.
