Betty Lois Howell, 81, of 2710 Langston Drive, Goldsboro, died Saturday evening at Kitty Askins Hospice Center. Born in Wayne Co., she was the daughter of the late Roy and Bernice Braswell Williams. She was a member of First Pentecostal Holiness Church. After her retirement from O'Berry Center, she went back to school and earned her CNA certificate. She then became a dedicated Nursing Assistant at Kitty Askins Hospice Center.
A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held Tuesday at 3 p.m. at First Pentecostal Holiness Church in Goldsboro, with the Rev. Bill Rose officiating. At other times, the family will be at the home of Mike and Shannon Raper, 2512 Bradford Place, Goldsboro.
She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Floyd David Howell; her son and daughter-in-law, Dexter and Joan Howell of Goldsboro, her daughters and sons-in-law, Beth and Gene Spainhour and Phyllis and Tim Jones, all of Goldsboro; two brothers, Freddie Williams of Princeton and Bobby Williams of Goldsboro; eight grandchildren and seven great-granchildren.
She was preceded in death by her brother, R.G. Williams and a granddaughter.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to Kitty Askins Hospice Center, 107 Handley Park Court, Goldsboro N.C. 27534.
