Ray Harald Barfield, 99, 205 Fussell St., died Monday in Kitty Askins Hospice.
Funeral will be Thursday at 1 p.m. in James T. Haskins Memorial Chapel of Haskins Funeral Home, with Bishop Alton A. Smith officiating. Burial will be in Barfield Cemetery in Vanceboro.
He was born Jan. 28, 1916, in Craven County to Abraham Lincoln Barfield and Katie Nelson Barfield. He was married to Bertha Greenfield Barfield.
He is survived by three children.
Visitation, with the family present, will be an hour prior to the service. At other times, the family will receive friends at the home, where it will assemble for the funeral procession.
