WILLIAM A. 'BILL' STILLS

William Avery "Bill" Sills, 83, died Wednesday at Vidant Inpatient Hospice in Greenville.
He was born in Wayne County to the late John and Gladys Avery Sills, and was married to the late Betty M. Sills.
Bill retired from Southern Bell Telephone Co. after 32 years of service.
He was a former member of Madison Avenue Baptist Church, and participated in its choir.
In his retirement years, he loved vegetable gardening.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, Aug. 15, at 2 p.m. at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home, with Mr. Rick Pridgen officiating. A
private burial will be held at a later date at Evergreen Memorial Cemetery.
The family will be receiving friends immediately following the memorial service.
Mr. Sills is survived by his daughter, Barbara Sills Stokes and her husband, Charles Henry Stokes Jr.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to The Service League of Greenville Hospice Center, 920 Wellness Drive, Greenville, N.C., 27835.
