LYNWOOD EARL KEARNEY

Lynwood Earl "PeeWee" Kearney, 76, Dudley, passed away Monday, June 22, 2015, at Rex Healthcare in Raleigh surrounded by his family.
PeeWee was born in Greene County March 11, 1939, to the late William David Kearney and Inez Smith Kearney.
He had worked as a truck driver, and also owned and operated Kearney's Body Shop. PeeWee later went to work with A.K. Motors Inc. in Mount Olive.
He proudly served his country in the United States Navy, and was a member of American Legion Post 11 in Goldsboro for 33 years.
PeeWee always enjoyed the opportunity to barbecue a pig, and will be remembered by many for his excellent barbecue and barbecue sauce.
He also enjoyed watching NASCAR Racing.
Most important to PeeWee was his family. PeeWee worked so hard to make sure his wife and children were well taken care of. He was the best daddy and granddaddy, who will be truly missed.
The family will receive friends Thursday, June 25, 2015, from 6 to 7 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home, followed by a service celebrating his life at 7 p.m. in the chapel. The family will also greet friends following the service Thursday and other times at his home.
Interment will be Friday, June 26, 2015, at 10 a.m. in Wayne Memorial Park.
PeeWee is survived by his wife of 44 years, Lynn Kearney; his children, David Kohler and wife, Lyn, Melinda Flores, Becky Edgerton, Andrew "Jackie" Kearney and wife, Tammy, and Juanice Kearney White; grandchildren, Lance White Jr., Miranda White, Ashley Kearney, Victoria Kohler, A.J. Kearney, Reagan White and Joshua Kearney; and a great-grandson, Mason, whom he was anticipating his birth.
He is also survived by his sister, Judy Carraway Heath; his aunt; and several cousins, nieces and nephews, whom he loved very much.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, William Arthur "Buddy" Kearney.
