HILLIARD 'DENNY' BARKER
April 27, 1958-April 29, 2015
Hilliard "Denny" Barker, 57, passed away Wednesday at Duke Hospital.
Born in Kentucky, he was the son of the late Bud and Dicie Barker.
A veteran of the United States Air Force, he served four years at Seymour Johnson Air Force Base in Goldsboro, where he had resided since 1975.
He worked 16 years at Georgia Pacific and 22 years at the U.S. Postal Service, retiring in 2013.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 2, at 3 p.m. at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home in Goldsboro. Burial will follow in the family cemetery.
The family will receive friends immediately following the graveside.
Denny is survived by his wife of 39 years, Rhonda Barker; his daughter, Jessica Barker; two brothers; two sisters; and numerous other friends and family members.
