Linda Alphin Brown, 68, Goldsboro, passed away on Sunday, April 26, 2015, at Kitty Askins Hospice Center surrounded by her family.
Linda was born in Wayne County on Jan. 1, 1947, to the late Millard and Nettie Mae Casey Alphin.
Her most significant role in life and what she did best was being a loving mother to her three sons.
Linda also enjoyed watching Carolina basketball.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, April 28, 2015, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home followed by a service celebrating her life at 7:30 p.m. in the chapel with the Rev. Emmitt Jones officiating.
Interment will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Pineview Cemetery.
Linda is survived by her husband, Selby Jackson Brown; sons, Thomas Jones and wife, Suzanne, Dennis Jones and wife, Daphney, and Scotty Jones and wife, Brenda; stepdaughter, Donna Holcombe; sister, Carolyn Jones and husband, Emmitt; brother, Donald Price and wife, Retha; grandchildren, Stevie Johnson, Brandon Jones, Chris Jones and Jason Register; step-grandchildren, Cory Holcombe and Kendell Holcombe; and great-grandchildren, McKenna Johnson and Kaylan Johnson.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Kenneth Price and Jimmy Alphin and her stepson, Selby Franklin Brown.
The family would like express special thanks to Kitty Askins Hospice Center for the great care they gave Linda and her family during her period of declining health.
