Helen King Boyd, 91, of Emerald Isle, formerly of Goldsboro, died Sunday, March 15, 2015, at Crystal Bluffs Rehabilitation and Health Care Center, Morehead City.
A memorial service and interment will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, March 19, 2015, at Providence United Methodist Church in Goldsboro.
Visitation will follow in the church parlor.
A celebration of life service will be held 3 p.m. Sunday, March 22, 2015, at Chapel by the Sea in Emerald Isle, with visitation following the service.
Helen was born in Camden, N.J. and raised in Goldsboro.
She and her husband moved from Goldsboro to Emerald Isle in 2005.
She was a member of Providence United Methodist Church and attended Chapel by the Sea in Emerald Isle after her move to the beach.
Helen is survived by her husband of 71 years, Herman E. Boyd; son, Jerry Boyd of Wake Forest and friend, Diane Braden, of Garner; daughter, Jo Anne Boyd West, and husband, George West, of Emerald Isle; and granddaughter, Christa Boyd of Atlanta, Ga.
Parents, Zeke and Lille Mae King; sister, Sallie Crawford; and brother, Joe King, preceded her in death.
