Richard Matthew "Rick" Grady Jr., 57, Vanceboro, died Monday, March 9, 2015.
The funeral service will be conducted Sunday at 3 p.m. in Holly Hill Pentecostal Holiness Church.
Mr. Grady, a native of Savannah, Ga., lived his early life in Goldsboro, and was a graduate of Eastern Wayne High School.
A veteran of the United States Navy, he served in the Gulf War, and was a plank owner of the USS Abraham Lincoln.
He was an Eagle Scout, and was awarded three Palms and selected as a Vigil member of the Order of the Arrow Boy Scouts.
He was a Master Councilor of DeMolay, (Masonic Order).
He was a member of St. Luke United Methodist Church in Goldsboro, and attended Holly Hill Pentecostal Holiness Church.
He is survived by his wife, Marla Mitchell Grady; stepdaughter, Macey Lauren Arrington; parents, Richard and Clara Grady, of Goldsboro; brother, Mark Grady and wife, Mary, of Wallace; sisters, Patricia Fletcher and husband, Eddie, of Marietta, Ga.; father and mother-in-law, James and Ramona Mitchell of Goldsboro; and a brother in-law, Clint Mitchell.
The family will receive friends Saturday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Wilkerson Funeral Home in Vanceboro.
