LELAND LEROY LAWRENCE SR.

Leland Leroy Lawrence Sr., 65, Goldsboro, passed suddenly Tuesday, March 10, 2015, at Wayne Memorial Hospital.
Leland was born in El Paso, Texas, March 20, 1949, to the late Bateman Farrow Lawrence and Mable Gums Lawrence.
He was a man known for his unconditional love for people, shown by the abundance of hugs and kisses he gave. Anyone who met him was warmed by his love and affection. He was a gracious, kind and generous man, who cared about everyone.
He was a member of Community Baptist Church.
Leland loved life and the life he had with his family.
A service celebrating Leland's life will be held Saturday, March 14, 2015, at 1 p.m. in the chapel of Seymour Funeral Home, with the Rev. Bobby Heath officiating. Interment will follow in the family cemetery with military honors by the United States Army.
Leland is survived by his wife, Alice Geneva Lawrence; his children, Kenneth Wayne Lawrence, Martha Annette Lawrence and Leland Leroy Lawrence Jr. and wife, Sonya Butler; stepchildren, Melton Earl Underhill, Susie Wood and Tommy Eugene Underhill; and grandchildren, Amaris Martha Lawrence, Anthony Carter, Chelsea Carter, William Megginson and Kevin Lawrence.
He is also survived by his sisters, Nona Ruth Lawrence and Leatha Lawrence, and brothers, Bud Lawrence and Larry Lawrence.
In addition to his parents, Leland was preceded in death by his wife, Martha Ann Lawrence, and grandson, Joseph Lee Carter Jr.
Flowers are welcome or memorials may be made to Community Baptist Church, 351 Antioch Road, Goldsboro, N.C., 27534.
The family will receive friends Friday, March 13, 2015, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home and other times at the home of his sister, Leatha Lawrence, 303 W. New Hope Road, Goldsboro.
