BENJAMIN LUKE WHITFIELD
Sept. 26, 2014-Jan. 16, 2015
It is with deep sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of baby Benjamin Luke Whitfield, 31/2-month-old son of Ben and Brooke Kelly Whitfield of Summerlin's Crossroads community of Mount Olive. He quietly passed from his sleep to the welcoming arms of Jesus early Friday morning, Jan. 16, 2015.
Services to remember his short, but joyful, life will be held Wednesday, Jan. 21, at 1 p.m. at First Pentecostal Holiness Church of Mount Olive, with Bishop Jimmy Whitfield and pastor Jeffrey Dail officiating, with burial to follow in Whitfield Cemetery at Rooty Branch Church.
The family will receive friends immediately following the cemetery service.
Along with his parents, baby Luke is survived by his twin siblings; a sister, Hannah Raye Whitfield; brother, Ethan James Whitfield, of the home; his maternal grandparents, Gary and Ann Kelly of Mount Olive; his paternal grandparents, Steve and Kay Whitfield of Mount Olive; maternal great-grandfather, James Coley of Faison; paternal great-grandparents, the Rev. Marvin and Joyce Whitfield of Clinton and Elgie Rogers of Benson; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Great-grandmother, Audrey Coley, along with other deceased family members were there to welcome baby Luke into the heavenly kingdom.
Sweet baby Luke was loved by so many. Thoughts and prayers for the family are appreciated.
Arrangements handled by Tyndall Funeral Home.
