MARIE S. HOLLANDs

May 19, 1925-Dec. 14, 2014

Mrs. Marie Smith Holland, 89, resident of Beautancus community of Mount Olive, passed from this life into the presence of her Lord and savior Sunday afternoon, Dec. 14, 2014.

She was in the loving care of Quinn Hospice Center of Kenansville when death came.

A longtime member of Rones Chapel United Methodist Church, Mrs. Holland was known for her love for family, friends and neighbors.

She was always immaculate with her appearance, loved a good joke, was quick to speak her mind and was known for her love for growing a big country vegetable garden, from which came many delicious home-cooked meals.

She loved life, kept a positive outlook and lived up to all that she was supposed to be -- a loving wife, mother, grandma, sister and friend.

The Holland family will receive friends at Tyndall Funeral Home Wednesday, Dec. 17, beginning at 12:30 p.m., with funeral services following at 2 p.m. in the chapel, to be officiated by the Rev. Mike Whatley, after which burial will take place in Wayne Memorial Park.

While flowers are welcome to honor her life, so are memorial gifts to Rones Chapel Church, 138 Garner's Chapel Road, Mount Olive, N.C., 28365, or Quinn Hospice Center, 748 S. Kenansville Bypass, Kenansville, N.C., 28349.

Davis, Kristi H. Byram, Joy Holland, Jim Holland, Michael Grady, Melissa Grady and Jeremy Best; 12 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; her siblings, Earl Smith and wife, Christine, of Clinton, Joyce Pope of Clinton, Carolyn West of Roseboro, Tony Smith and wife, Pam, of South Carolina and Willa Dean Bland and husband, Everett, of Clinton; and many nieces and nephews.
