Janice Holmes Hart, 71, Mount Olive resident, passed away early Sunday morning, Oct. 12, at the home of her daughter.
Funeral services will be held Monday night, Oct. 13, at 7 p.m. at Tyndall Funeral Home, officiated by the Rev. Paul Rose, with visitation following.
Burial will be Tuesday, Oct. 14, at 11 a.m. at Maplewood Cemetery in Mount Olive.
Friends and family are gathering at the home of Tammy and Bobby Mayo, 1820 Indian Springs Road, Mount Olive.
Janice was a retired nursing assistant with a long tenure of service at Genesis Heatlh Care in Mount Olive.
She is survived by two daughters, Tammy Mayo and husband, Bobby, of Mount Olive and Carol Tucker and companion, Steve Worrell, of Mount Olive; six grandchildren, Shelly Moose and husband, David, Durwood Tucker and wife, Christina, Brandon Whitfield, Jamie Hamm and husband, Jonathan, Jenny Hall and Matthew Waters; three great-grandchildren, Nicole Jones, Hunter Hamm and Peyton Moose; a sister, Lettie Fay Williams of Mount Olive; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a grandson, Jimmy Walter Hall III; her parents, Barry and Lettie Summerlin Holmes; a sister, Dollie H. Lee; and three brothers, Leonard Holmes, Edward "Boweevil" Holmes and Willard "Buddy" Holmes.
