Carl Irvin "Dickie" Britt, 68, Goldsboro, passed away Friday, Oct. 10, 2014, at Carolina East Medical Center in New Bern.
Dickie was born in Greene County Oct. 7, 1946, to the late Carl and Geraldine Ginn Hill.
He was married to the late Patricia Stancil Britt, and was retired from sales.
Dickie was a rare treasure to his family and friends. He was loved by all who knew him, and will be greatly missed.
Dickie shared many wonderful stories and teaching experiences with his grandchildren. He also enjoyed riding his Harley and spending time with his beloved dogs.
A service celebrating Dickie's life will be held Monday, Oct. 13, 2014, at 1 p.m. in the chapel of Seymour Funeral Home, with the Rev. Andy Stovall officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery.
Dickie is survived by his son, Jeffrey Britt and wife, Stephanie, of Cary; and two grandchildren, Emory and Sam Britt.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be given to Carolina Boxer Rescue, P.O. Box 87, Hampstead, N.C., 28443, or the American Cancer Society, 930B Wellness Drive, Greenville, N.C., 27834.
The family will receive friends Sunday, Oct. 12, 2014, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home.
