HAZEL MARIE G. GAY

Hazel Marie Gooding Gay, 71, died Wednesday evening at Wayne Memorial Hospital.
Born in Wayne County, she was the daughter of the late Isaac and Hazel Warrick Gooding, and sister of the late Carlton Gooding.
She graduated from Eureka High School, and was a member of Antioch Original Free Will Baptist Church.
A service to celebrate Marie's life will be held Friday at 4 p.m. in the chapel of Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Wayne Memorial Park.
Family members will greet friends Friday an hour prior to the service in the funeral home, and at other times, will be at the home of her son, Ronnie Gay.
Marie is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Ronnie and Hope Gay and Michael and Dawn Gay; her special friend, Charles Mitchell; a sister, Faye Evans; two brothers, Billy and Bobby Gooding; grandchildren, Austin, Jordan, Hannah, Katie, Taylor, Nina and Nick; her special niece, Dana Evans; great-nephew, Zachary Evans; and her special nephew, Keith Gooding.
