Deacon William "Bro" Cherry Jr., 78, 818 Franklin St., died Monday at Wayne Memorial Hospital.
Funeral will be Monday at 11 a.m. at Maranatha Seventh-Day Adventist Church, with pastor Calvin L. Watkins III officiating. Interment will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
He was born in Wayne County June 9, 1936, son of the late Sallie Royal Cherry and William Cherry Sr. and stepson of the late Lucille Williams Green Cherry.
He is survived by three sons and three daughters.
Visitation will be Monday from 10 to 10:50 a.m. at Maranatha Seventh-Day Adventist Church. Family and friends will assemble at 818 Franklin St. at 8:45 a.m. for the funeral possession.
