Mr. Micheal Wayne Adkins, 58, Stokesdale, passed away Friday, Aug. 8, 2014, at Moses Cone Hospital.
A memorial service celebrating his life will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 14, at Stokesdale Christian Church, with pastor Randy Winn presiding.
A native of Washington, D.C., Micheal was born July 9, 1956, the son of the late Leonard and Betty Ann Plumley Adkins.
He was a member of Stokesdale Christian Church, and retired from Beard Hardwoods, where he was vice president of procurement.
He was also involved with the National Poultry Improvement Plan (NPIP).
Surviving are his wife, Sharon Lough Adkins of the home; children Cindy Woodward and her husband, Lance, and Micheal Wayne Adkins Jr. both of Goldsboro; stepchildren Charles J. "C.J." Knipper of Decatur, Ga., and Patricia A. Neffgen and her husband, Justin, of Jacksonville, Fla.; and four grandchildren.
The family will receive friends following the memorial service in the fellowship hall of the church.
