GEOFFREY L. PEARCE
Nov. 26, 1944-July 29, 2014
Geoffrey Lee Pearce, 69, Dudley, passed away Tuesday at Kitty Askins Hospice Center.
He was born in Machias, Maine, the son of the late Alda Sprague and William Pearce, and husband of Tiffany J. Pearce.
He was retired from the United States Air Force as well as the ABC Board of Wayne County.
He was a lifetime member of VFW Post No. 2615, serving as past commander and past district commander.
He was also a lifetime member of American Legion Post No. 11.
Mr. Pearce attended Faith Free Will Baptist Church.
A funeral service will be held Friday evening at 7:30 p.m. in the chapel of Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home, with the Rev. Dann Patrick officiating. Committal services will be held Saturday morning at 11 a.m. at Wayne Memorial Park with full military honors.
The family will receive friends following the service Friday evening.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Pearce is survived by two daughters, Robyn Fulkerson of Crestview, Fla., and Trisha Pearce of Goldsboro, N.C.; two grandchildren, Magan Fulkerson and Ryan Fulkerson; stepchildren, Jackie Lewis and husband, Larry Lewis, of Willow Springs, N.C., and Roxie Davis and husband, Sam, of Princeton, N.C.; stepgrandchildren, Summer Ungerer and husband, Aaron, of Wilson, N.C., Charity Willoughby and husband, Todd, of Princeton, N.C., Kristin Williamson and husband, Daniel, of Willow Springs, N.C., Hunter Davis of Princeton, N.C., and Trent Lewis and wife, Kristi, of Willow Springs, N.C.; and stepgreat-grandchildren, Addison, Ainsley and Aubree Ungerer and Eva Williamson.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Faith Free Will Baptist Church, 1200 W. Grantham St., Goldsboro, N.C., 27530, or the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 22718, Oklahoma City, Okla., 73123-1718.
