RUTH SPENCE

Ruth Spence, 85, Goldsboro, N.C., passed from this life July 18, 2014, at Kitty Askins Hospice Center in Goldsboro after a brief illness.
Ruth was born in Wayne County, W.Va., Feb. 18, 1929, to the late Maryetta Adkins Napier.
She was also married to Howard Cecil Spence for 58 years, and lived most of her adult life in Mingo County.
After the passing of her beloved husband, Howard, in 2003, she moved to North Carolina to be closer to her daughter, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She leaves behind a daughter, Donna and husband, John Edwards, of Goldsboro, N.C.; granddaughter, Caryn and her husband, Lennie Reagan, of Pikeville, N.C.; and grandson, Chris Edwards of Greenville, N.C.
Ruth was a faithful Christian for more than 60 years, being baptized at Caney Church of Christ. She was currently a member of Oak Forest Church of Christ in Goldsboro.
Visitation will be at Chafin Funeral Home chapel Wednesday, July 23, 2014, from 10 a.m. to noon.
At noon the funeral procession will lead to Mount View Memorial Gardens at Maher, W.Va.
