HELEN J. GARNER

Helen Jernigan Garner, 89, longtime Mount Olive resident, passed away Tuesday, July 8, 2014.
She was a member of Northeast Free Will Baptist Church, its Get-Together Club and Woman's Auxiliary, and was a former Sunday school teacher.
She was the daughter of the late David Henry and Lucy Ella Whitfield Jernigan; widow of A.E. "Ted" Garner; and mother of deceased infant son, Edward Neal Garner, and deceased daughter, Marsha Nan Garner.
She is survived by a son, Tim Garner of Mount Olive; two brothers, Marvin Jernigan of Mount Olive and Jimmy Robert Jernigan and wife, Ruth, of Fremont; three sisters, Margaret J. Wall of Goldsboro and Doris J. Ellis and Shirley J. Deal both of Mount Olive; two grandchildren, Jason Edward Garner and Alexander Ray Garner; and great-grandchildren, Darren Garner, Miranda Garner, Alexander Ray Garner Jr. and Shaylen Alexis Garner.
Funeral services will be held at Tyndall Funeral Home at 11 a.m. Friday, July 11, with the Rev. Richard Cuddington officiating. Interment will follow at Wayne Memorial Park.
Visitation will be at the funeral home during the hour before the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Northeast Church Youth Group "Faithfulee", c/o Kimberly Smith, 737 Thunder Swamp Road, Mount Olive, 28365.
