KENNETH RAY SMITH

KINSTON -- Kenneth Ray Smith, 70, died Friday at Lenoir Memorial Hospital.
He was a 1962 graduate of Charles B. Aycock High School and attended East Carolina University. His greatest love in life was his family followed by bluegrass music, sports and politics.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Gaynelle Waller Smith & Kenneth R. Smith of Goldsboro.
He is survived by his wife, Delores Stenquist Smith; daughters, Kimberly S. Meidinger of Currituck, Katherine S. Brown and husband, Walter Brown of Roanoke Rapids; son, Kenneth Ray Smith, Jr. and wife, Erica Little Smith of Stantonsburg; seven grandchildren: Stephen, Jessica and Christopher Meidinger; Joshua, Maggie and Mary Delores Brown; Cameron Major Smith, and by his beloved dog, Bart. His sister, Sharon S. Sholar and husband, Jack Sholar of Wilson.
A private service for the immediate family will be held upon the request of the deceased.
