MAXINE BATEMAN
July 19, 1919-June 3, 2014
Maxine Richman Bateman, 94, Fremont, died Tuesday at Kitty Askins Hospice Center surrounded by her family.
Maxine was born In Teton City, Idaho, July 19, 1919, to the late John Henry Richman and Lucy Luella Baker Richman.
In 1965, she married Eldon Theo Bateman.
After his death in 2001, she moved to Goldsboro.
Maxine was elected county clerk for Madison County, Idaho, where she served for four years. She then served as an accountant for the city of Idaho Falls, Idaho, for 13 years.
Maxine was a longtime member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She was devoted to her church, and was involved in many activities, where she utilized her gifts and abilities to share the love of God.
Above all, she loved spending time with her family and friends, especially her precious grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. She will be missed.
The family will receive friends Thursday from 6 to 7 p.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, followed by a service celebrating her life at 7 p.m., with Bishop John W. Bass presiding.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, June 9, 2014, at Teton Cemetery in Teton, Idaho.
Maxine is survived by her daughter, Betty Jane Briggs and husband, Verdell; grandchildren, Michael Briggs and wife, Monica, Steven Briggs and wife, Dona, Amy Sullivan and husband, Arba, David Briggs and Kevin Briggs and wife, Anna; and her stepchildren, Kathy Tortorice, Marsha "Nikkie" Rodriguez, and Greg Bateman.
She is also survived by 10 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and parents, Maxine was preceded in death by her sons, Boyd R. Nave and Phil Thomas Nave, and her three siblings.
