Joseph E. Jones, age 75, died Friday morning at Kitty Askins Hospice Center.
He was born in Wayne County to the late Joseph E. and Leona Beamon Jones.
Mr. Jones was a member of Antioch Presbyterian Church.
Funeral service will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at Antioch Presbyterian Church, with Pastor Kelley Buffaloe officiating. Entombment will follow at Wayne Memorial Park Mausoleum. The family will be receiving friends Monday from 10 to 11 a.m. at the church.
Mr. Jones is survived by his wife, Peggy Mooring Jones; two sons, Michael K. Jones and wife, Nancy, of Candler, N.C., and J. Wayne Jones of Atlanta, Ga.; three daughters, Rhonda J. Souder and husband, Tony, of Chattanooga, Tenn., Robin J. Overman of Elk River, Minn., and Wendy J. Millard and husband, Steve, of Goldsboro; two sisters, Geraldine J. Jones and husband, George, and Jean Carol Jones, of the Grantham Community; and 10 grandchildren: Steven, Jedidiah, Jarred, Jeremy, Abby, Bethany, Caleb, Avenly, Maggie and Alexis.
A granddaughter, Jessica ,preceded him in death.
In addition to flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Antioch Presbyterian Church, Building Fund, 2306 Old Smithfield Hwy, Goldsboro NC 27530 or to Kitty Askins Hospice Center, 107 Handley Park Court, Goldsboro, NC 27534.
