Meda "Teddi" Cornwell Clarkston, 70, passed away peacefully Sunday, Nov. 24, 2013, at Wayne Memorial Hospital in Goldsboro, N.C., surrounded by her family.
Teddi was born in Portsmouth, Va., Oct. 12, 1943, to the late Robert Thomas and Alethea Harrell Cornwell.
She received her criminal justice degree from the University of Missouri at St. Louis.
Teddi was retired as Restore manager with Habitat for Humanity in Greenville, N.C.
She was kind and compassionate, and had a smile for everyone.
She loved her family and her greatest passion was sports. She enjoyed playing many sports, wrote about sports, coached and always watched sporting events.
She will be greatly missed.
A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held at Seymour Funeral Home, with Dr. Glenn Phillips officiating, Dec. 7 at 11 a.m.
She is survived byher daughter, Amy Clarkston Barnes and husband, Jeff, of Pikeville; her granddaughter, Jennifer L. Barnes of Pikeville and her best friend, Martha Jo Hollowell; and beloved pet, Charlie.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Baptist Church, 125 S. John St., Goldsboro, N.C., 27530.
