Vertia Murray Jones, 79, died Friday at Kitty Askins Hospice Center.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the chapel of Howell Funeral Home & Crematory in Goldsboro. Burial will follow in Wayne Memorial Park.
She was born in Carteret County on Feb. 10, 1934, to the late Johnnie and Bessie Jones Murray. She was preceded in death by her husband, L.V. Jones.
She is survived by four children.
Visitation will be 4-6 p.m. today at the funeral home, with the family present from 5-6 p.m.
The family will receive friends at other times at the residence at 213 Vinwood Ave., Goldsboro.
