RALEIGH -- Perry Alexander Young passed away Thursday morning, Oct. 31, 2013, after a long illness.
A celebration of life service will be held Saturday, Nov. 2, 2013, at 3 p.m. from the chapel of Howell Funeral Home and Crematory in Goldsboro, with visitation afterward.
He was the son of Peggy Taylor Luna of Goldsboro and Maurice Young of Bowling Green, Ky.
He is survived by a sister, Melinda Young; a niece, Peri Wall; a very special aunt, Betty Walker; uncle, Ken Taylor; and many friends, including his Wolfpack family.
He graduated from Eastern Wayne High School in 1980 and from North Carolina State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering.
He worked for Northern Telecom more than 20 years.
Perry was an avid North Carolina State Wolfpack fan, and never missed a game until his health declined.
He will be sorely missed.
