COLUMBIA, S.C. -- Julia Fricke Burtis, 75, formerly of Goldsboro, N.C., died Tuesday, Oct. 29, 2013, in Columbia, S.C.
She was the wife of the late Peter Joseph Burtis.
Born in Salisbury, N.C., she was the daughter of the late Joseph Dietrich Fricke and Ethel Cox Fricke.
Mrs. Burtis graduated from Goldsboro High School, Goldsboro, N.C., and Mercy School of Nursing in Charlotte, N.C.
Mrs. Burtis was a member of Our Lady of the Hills Catholic Church.
Surviving are her children and their spouses, Mark Joseph (Pamela) Burtis of Irmo, Craig Steven (Camille) Burtis of Charlotte, N.C., and Laura Burtis (Brett) Harrelson of Columbia, S.C.; grandchildren, Chad Joseph Burtis and Alyssa Catherine Burtis both of Irmo, Jessica Bryte Burtis and Steven Pierce Burtis both of Charlotte, N.C., Brooke Virginia Harrelson, Ryan Brett Harrelson and Brady Peter Harrelson of Columbia, S.C.; and sisters, Doris Fricke Monk and Ruth Fricke Gawlak both of Goldsboro, N.C., and Norma Fricke Williams of Hope Mills, N.C.
A Mass of Christian burial for Julia Fricke Burtis will be celebrated at noon Saturday, Nov. 2, 2013, at Our Lady of the Hills Catholic Church. Final commendation and farewell prayers will be in Woodridge Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to noon at the church.
Dunbar Funeral Home, Dutch Fork Chapel, Irmo, is assisting the family.
