CHAPEL HILL -- Thomas Ellison Faison, 85, died Tuesday, Oct. 22, 2013, at the University of North Carolina Hospital after a brief illness.
He is survived by his two children, Elizabeth Faison and Thomas I Faison, and Thomas' wife, Jolee, and their children Joseph, Cody, Kristina, Amber and Crystal.
He is also survived by his brother, William A. Faison Jr. of Chicago, Ill.; his sister, Sara Faison Hart of Daytona Beach, Fla.; and Angus McFang.
A memorial service will be held at Church of the Holy Family Episcopal in Chapel Hill Friday at 1 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Durham Rescue Mission or the North Carolina Food Bank.
