SPRING LAKE -- Charles T. Guy, 79, passed away Sunday evening at Duke University Hospital.
He was the son of the late James Thomas and May W. Guy, and husband of Betty Lillian Cobbs Guy.
He was retired from the United States Air Force, and was a member of Northwood Temple.
A funeral service will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at Northwood Temple Church, and the committal will follow at Wayne Memorial Park at 3:30 p.m., with the Rev. John Hedgepeth officiating.
The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service at the church. The family will also receive friends Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home of Goldsboro.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Guy is survived by five sons, Michael Timothy Guy and wife, Elena, of Clayton, N.C., David Charles Guy and wife, Melissa, of Garner, N.C., Matthew Thomas Guy and wife, Virginia, of Spring Lake, N.C., Daniel Christopher Guy of Spring Lake, N.C., and Charles Phillip Guy and wife, Miranda, of Durham; a daughter, Susan Elizabeth Guy; two sisters, Cleo Phillips of Mount Olive and Joyce Harris of Clinton; and seven grandchildren, Nicholas Charles Guy, Alexander Ian Guy, Austin Thomas Guy, Autumn Myrtle Guy, Brandon Tyler Guy, Julian Guy and Elizabeth Guy.
