SMITHFIELD -- Linda Marie Chisenhall Laughinghouse, 66, died peacefully Friday afternoon at Snug Harbor on Nelson Bay in Sea Level, following a period of declining health.
Born Nov. 19, 1946 in Wake County, she was a daughter of Mittie Kelly Chisenhall of Raleigh and Sea Level and the late Jackson Lee Chisenhall. She was preceded in death by a son, Eric Lee Laughinghouse; and a brother, Buck Chisenhall.
Linda was a member of the first freshman class to graduate from Enloe High School in Raleigh and attended Peace College.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 3, 2013 at Centenary United Methodist Church in Smithfield. The family will receive friends following the service in Wesley Hall. A committal service will be held at 3 p.m. at the Lakeside Chapel in Greenleaf Memorial Park in New Bern, N.C.
Surviving in addition to her mother are her husband of 41 years, William Laughinghouse, Jr. of Smithfield; a son, William "Will" Laughinghouse III and fiancée, Megan Ramer, of Wilmington; a brother, Ronald Lee Chisenhall and wife, Mary B., of Otway; a sister, Debra Tachau and husband, Rob, of Albuquerque, N.M.; and granddogs, Rusty, Hallie, and Loc.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorial contributions be made to either Centenary United Methodist Church, 140 East Market Street, Smithfield, N.C. 27577 or the MS Society, 3101 Industrial Drive No. 210, Raleigh, NC 27609.
