MOUNT OLIVE -- Beatrice Best Thornton died Thursday, Sept. 26. A funeral service will be held at Hopewell United Methodist Church today, Sunday, Sept. 29, at 3 p.m.
She enjoyed flower gardening, traveling, and most of all, being with family.
She is survived by daughters, Alice Faye Jones of Eastover, Judith Griffin of Clinton, Jennifer T. Parker and husband, Preston, of Mount Olive and Karen T. Sutton and husband, Billy, of Clinton; brother Ray Best Sr.; grandchildren Gwen J. Strickland and husband, Jimmy, Alison J. Draughon and husband, Jason, April G. Fussell and husband, Douglas, Wesley Parker and wife, Michelle, Kelly P. Campbell and husband, Chase, Caroline Sutton and Cameron Sutton and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Kirby H. Thornton, and parents Foy and Fannie Best.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Hopewell United Methodist Church and other times at her residence on Sunday, Sept. 29.
