ANNA WIZEMANN EDSALL

Sept. 13, 1930-July 20, 2013

Anna W. Edsall passed away July 20, 2013. She was 82.

Ann was a loving wife, mother and friend.

Born in Bronx, N.Y., she graduated from the then Douglass College for Women, which later merged into Rutgers University.

Following graduation, Ann married her beau of four years.

She taught high school physical education and English in New Jersey until the birth of her two children.

She followed her husband's career to Washington, D.C., where they lived for more than 20 years.

Her many interests led her to become a Girl Scout and Cub Pack leader, Girl Scout district trainer and domestic goddess.

An adventurer, Ann led the family's many camping trips everywhere from Canada, state and national parks to a six-week trip across country.

She joined her oceanographer husband at many of his exotic destinations, and joined her best friend and her daughter for a three-week adventure in Europe.

Ann's friends were many and treasured. Her dearest friendships spanned more than six decades.

She was predeceased by her husband of 59 years, Thomas D. Edsall III; her sister, Alice Douglas of Boston, Mass.; and her parents, Grover and Emma Wizemann of Ocean City, N.J.

She is survived by her loving children, daughter, Linda A. Edsall-Huard and son-in-law, David C. Huard, of Goldsboro, N.C.; son, Stephen T. Edsall and daughter-in-law, Roxann L. Edsall, of Alabaster, Ala.; and grandchildren, Duane Huard of Lewiston, Maine, Darcie McDevitt of Grey's Creek, N.C., and Shannon Edsall and Kyle Edsall of Alabaster, Ala.

Memorial services will be held at St. Stephen's Episcopal Church in Goldsboro, N.C., Thursday, July 25, 2013, at 11 a.m.
