DAVID L. BARTLETT

David Lee Bartlett, 79, died Friday at Wayne Memorial Hospital.
David was born in Wayne County on Oct. 15, 1933, to the late George Atlas and Ina Carter Bartlett.
David had a passion for farming and family. He was the owner of DB Construction, and was a member of Trinity Baptist Church in Princeton. He served his country in the United States Army.
Funeral services will be held Monday, July 22, 2013, at 7 p.m. in the chapel of Seymour Funeral Home with the Rev. David Toulson and the Rev. Tony McLamb officiating. Interment will be noon Tuesday at Wayne Memorial Park.
David is survived by his wife, Christine Bartlett; his daughters, Sheila Bartlett of Goldsboro and Donna Smith and husband, Durwood, of LaGrange; his son, Roger Bartlett of Beaufort ; his grandchildren, Lee Allen, Sheena Larrison, Michael Bartlett and Derek Smith; his great-grandchildren, Alyssa and Avery Allen, Leeanna and Deeana Larrison and Nicholas Hernandez and Kaleb Newsome; his brothers, Kenneth Bartlett, John Bartlett and Andrew Bartlett, all of LaGrange; his sister, Ellen Conaway of Va.; his step-children, Edward Braswell and friend, Ellen Grice, of Goldsboro, Kenneth Braswell and wife, Norma, of Four Oaks, and Sheila Parrish and husband, Jeff, of Princeton; his 10 step-grandchildren; and his nine step-great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, David was preceded in death by his first wife, Joyce Lancaster Bartlett; his brothers, Alfred Bartlett and Arthur Bartlett; his sister, Ruth B. Pate; his step-son, Ricky Braswell; and his step-granddaughter, Jennifer Crawford.
The family will receive friends on Monday from 5:30 to 6:45 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home, and at other times at the home.
