BILLY E. SAULS

Billy Exum Sauls, 77, was born Sept. 17, 1935, in Wayne County, and died June 23 2013, at Kitty Askins Hospice Center in Goldsboro.
Billy graduated from Eureka High School class of 1953.
He married Myrtie Lue Gray in 1956.
He started adult life as a Farmer. He worked as a surveyor with the Farm Service Agency and as a supervisor at Imperial Tobacco Co. Billy retired after 26 years with BB&T as senior vice president of trust in farm and estate management.
He founded Sauls Farm Agency, and serviced the farmers in Eastern North Carolina for more than 20 years.
He was a lifetime member of Eureka United Methodist Church.
He was a Ruritan with Eureka Ruritan Club, where he received the Citizenship Award and the Community Service Award.
He was also a member of Breakfast Buddies at BJ's Cafe' in Eureka.
Funeral arrangements have been made with Seymour Funeral Home.
The service will be held Tuesday June 25, at 7 p.m. at Eureka United Methodist Church; visitation will be prior to the service starting at 5 p.m. The Rev. Michelle Clark will officiate. Graveside services will be at Eureka Cemetery Wednesday, June 26, at 11 a.m.
The family will receive friends at other times at the home in Eureka.
Billy is survived by his wife of 57 years, Myrtie Gray Sauls; his son, Billy Dwight Sauls and wife, Karen, of Eureka; and his daughter, Beth Sauls Gurley and husband, Mike, of Eureka.
He had three grandchildren, Travis M. Gurley of Charlotte, Miranda S. Gurley of Eureka and Rachel S. Rankin of Cary, and a great-grandchild, Benjamin G. Rankin of Cary.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Leland Exum and Flora Estelle Ricks Sauls.
